We finally got some decent rain (hurrah) and boy did the weeds in Siam Gardens enjoy it! They had sprouted up in every possible gap in the beds, which kept our volunteers very busy for this week's working party.
Luckily the rain had also perked up the Cosmos and many Salvias in the garden. And excitingly, the myrtle bushes were full of berries! Some areas of garden had really struggled in this summer's hot, dry weather and we are hoping to get new planting in this autumn to give it time to develop good root systems able to seek out what water there is in the ground! Thank you to sponsors Bridge Farm Plants of Monks Eleigh for donating several dozen winter-flowering pansies and violas for filling some of the gaps we created.
