ANGLIA IN BLOOM

The Anglia in Bloom region forms part of the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society’s) Britain in Bloom competition.

This is a campaign to help us get the best out of the village, town or city in which we live, both environmentally and florally. It is a great way of getting communities working together, socially, and having lots of fun on the way.

The aim of the competition is to encourage the improvement of our surroundings through the imaginative use of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping. It also aims to achieve a litter free and sustainable environment.

PROPOSED 2022 JUDGING ROUTE

Anglia in Bloom judges are set to visit Sudbury on Friday 22nd July 2022.

The first section will be walked, starting from Sudbury Town Hall at 2pm, and taking in Siam Gardens, Kernos Centre, Eden Rose Coppice and Sudbury Railway Station. From the station, judges will be driven past various flower beds and planters on the one-way system, before heading to Belle Vue Park, and finishing up at Sudbury Resource Centre.

If your home or business is on the route you can help Sudbury go for gold! Judges are looking for well-loved surroundings, so anything you and your neighbours can do, from litter picking to floral planting, is sure to help, and will of course make Sudbury more pleasant for all!

If you spot any bigger issues such as graffiti or fly-tipping you can report them to Sudbury's Community Wardens: www.sudburytowncouncil.co.uk/community-wardens

Our team's efforts in both 2018 and 2019 resulted in Sudbury in Bloom being awarded a silver in the Anglia in Bloom Large Town Category

In addition to our own success we were delighted at the recognition of The Eden Rose Project who were awarded Best Garden for Special Needs.  We so enjoyed our visit to the Project and to hear about the excellent work that they were carrying out.

We are extremely grateful for all those who supported these efforts and the recognition of the hard work by Anglia in Bloom is also much appreciated.

Sometimes a reason and focus can help you to develop a goal for your town that can be shared by all in making the town a better place – would you like to help us?  However much or little you can contribute your contributions will be appreciated and we have projects and support for all experience in whatever area you would like to help.

Just get in touch, we look forward to hearing from you and making you welcome click Get Involved to find out more.
Although the Anglia in Bloom competition is cancelled for 2020 we are still working to make the town the best it can be.
